The Zen Shiatsu Society of Canada:

• Supports students, practitioners, and teachers of Zen Shiatsu in their practical, personal and spiritual development.
• Recognizes Zen Shiatsu as a mindful approach to contact-healing based on the organ-meridian networks of East Asian Medicine in their physical, energetic and spiritual aspects.
• Acknowledges the heart connection of love and compassion as the essence of healing.
• Promotes public awareness of Zen Shiatsu.

Membership is open to:
Teachers recognized by the membership as a teacher of Zen Shiatsu: Teacher Member of the Zen Shiatsu Society: TZSS

Practitioners with 500 hours minimum qualification or with other Zen Shiatsu training (i.e. apprenticeship, private training) and certified by one Teacher to be competent in Practical Shiatsu: PZSS

Schools: supporting the Zen Shiatsu Society.

Members of the public, supporters of Zen Shiatsu, including practitioners of other therapies and students: MZSS

Membership fees and subscriptions are by voluntary donation
Constitution and variations are by consensus
Administration is by volunteers
Annual meeting is held around May 1st

NOTES on the CHARTER
The purpose of our Society is:

• To keep sight of the true spirit of Zen Shiatsu healing, to let its light shine in our hearts and illuminate our lives and our work.
• To follow the heart-connection of loving-kindness without elitism or exclusivity.
• To trust our teachers assessments of when a student is ready to become a practitioner.

Our intention is to spend energy vigorously promoting Zen Shiatsu while minimizing overhead and bureaucracy, to support members in all aspects of their development and to provide resources for study, practice development and ongoing professional support while conserving the resources of our planet. Decisions are by consensus and communications by email.

The founding members of the Zen Shiatsu Society agreed by consensus to open its membership and registers to students, practitioners and teachers of Zen Shiatsu with automatic membership for students of schools that are members of the Zen Shiatsu Society.

We gather annually in gratitude for this life and its opportunities to help others. Members will be notified by e-mail of the time and place of the annual meeting.
